Become a more effective advocate for hazing prevention and receive Certification, with criteria established by the experts at Hazing Prevention Network.

Prevent.Zone by AliveTek, in partnership with Hazing Prevention Network, designed this curriculum of study for professionals who seek certification. This training program is entirely online and will include signature talks, assignments, and discussion forums.

In this course, you will:

Gain a solid understanding and competence to help build, support, and grow your hazing prevention efforts.

Join 3 live events (via Zoom), including 2 signature talks from guest speakers.

Step through the process of developing — or improving — a tailored plan to prevent hazing on your campus, within your group, or within your organization.

Receive certification upon completion of the course and earn a digital badge through Credly!

10-20 hrs

This course requires approximately 10-20 hours to complete, depending on your level of experience as a hazing prevention advocate.

Final Assessment

Each week’s discussions and assignments build up to a Final Assessment–your hazing prevention plan.

Includes Prerequisite

As part of the course, participants will complete Hazing Prevention 101™ as a prerequisite.

Course Overview

Week 1

In Week 1, you’ll get to know your cohort through online  introductions and online discussions. You will begin building your prevention plan. The Federal Stop Campus Hazing Act and Hazing Prevention Network’s Cycle 4 Change is also discussed.

Week 1 includes a live discussion (via Zoom) with your facilitator and cohort Friday at 1 p.m. ET.

In Week 2, you will learn the basics of awareness and assessments, evaluate hazing research and data, design your own climate surveys and discuss ways to share data with others.

Week 2 also features a live guest speaker event (via Zoom) with your cohort Friday at 1 p.m. ET.

Week 3 focuses on advocacy and policy. You will critique your hazing definitions, build or improve on hazing policies, and discuss ways to become a better advocate.

In Week 4, assignments and course content focus on education and engagement. Each week’s assignments are designed to guide you towards building or improving your own hazing prevention and engagement plan. 

You will have the following (fifth) week to finalize your assignments.
